DTF (Direct-to-Film)
The smooth high stitch density surface holds DTF detail beautifully with a soft hand. Press at 290-305 degrees F with medium pressure and secure the lightweight fabric so it does not shift.
Screen Printing
High stitch density ring-spun cotton is ideal for plastisol and water-based inks, producing crisp, smooth prints with great coverage.
DTG (Direct-to-Garment)
Ring-spun cotton takes DTG well with sharp detail and a soft result. Apply standard pretreat on dark colors for best ink vibrancy.
Embroidery
The double pique high stitch density fabric is well suited to embroidery. Use a cut-away stabilizer for dense designs on the lightweight body.
Water-Based Printing
Soft ring-spun cotton is great for soft-hand water-based inks, producing a vibrant print that sinks into the fabric.
Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)
Strong bond on ring-spun cotton. Pre-press 3-5 seconds to flatten and remove moisture from the lightweight fabric before applying vinyl.
Plastisol Transfers
Handles plastisol transfers well. Use medium pressure on the lightweight 4.5 oz fabric to avoid imprinting the platen edge.
Bleaching / Tie-Dye
Solid 100% cotton colors bleach and tie-dye well for trendy custom effects. Results vary on heather and blend colors.
Discharge Printing
Works on solid 100% cotton colors. Heather, antique, and Graphite Heather blends with poly content will not discharge fully.
Puff Printing
The lightweight fabric supports moderate puff designs. Avoid very heavy puff coverage, which can distort the soft body.
Sublimation
Only the 65/35 Heather colors have enough polyester to take sublimation, with softer results. Solid cotton, antique, and Graphite colors will not sublimate.
Laser / Burnout
Burnout needs higher polyester content and laser is for hard surfaces. Use a poly-blend or CVC tee such as the Gildan 67000 for burnout effects.

The 64000 is a soft, lightweight 4.5 oz ring-spun blank. Here is how to handle common DTF, press, wash-care, and rebranding questions.
The lightweight 4.5 oz fabric can shift or move on the platen during transfer application.
Secure the shirt firmly and use a heat-resistant adhesive spray. Pre-press 3-5 seconds to flatten and remove moisture before applying the transfer.
Too much pressure on the lightweight fabric can press a visible platen or transfer outline into the shirt.
Use medium pressure, not heavy, and a press pillow or foam insert to absorb the edge.
High heat is the most common cause. Hot water or a high dryer setting stresses the cured print layer.
Set clear wash-care expectations: cold wash, inside-out, low tumble dry. Include these instructions with every printed order.
The fabric is pre-shrunk, but hot wash plus high-heat drying can still cause about 1-3% shrinkage.
Recommend cold wash and low-heat dry. The ring-spun construction holds its shape well when cared for properly.
The 64000 has a tear-away tag, but some runs ship with a heat-transfer printed tag that does not tear away.
If the tag does not tear away, press your custom neck label directly over the existing printed tag for a clean private-label look.
Solid, antique, and Graphite colors are mostly cotton, which blocks dye-sub ink. Only the 65/35 Heather colors take sublimation.
Use the 65/35 Heather colors for partial sublimation, or choose a polyester blank for full-color sublimation.
The lightweight body can pucker under dense stitch counts without proper backing.
Use a cut-away stabilizer. For very dense designs, consider a heavier blank such as the Gildan 5000.
